How to select your headset, microphone, and external speakers in the Spoke Phone computer app (Windows and MacOS)

Spoke Phone will detect whatever microphone inputs and speaker outputs that your computer makes available. You need to tell Spoke Phone which specific microphone inputs and speaker outputs you would like Spoke Phone to use.

On the desktop, you can also choose to have the ringing sound play on external speakers (external speaker ring), while the conversation audio plays on your headset.

  • Click on the User icon on the bottom menu bar
  • Click on Settings -> My audio
  • You will see the currently selected microphone input and speaker outputs

Warning and resetting default audio preferences when a previously selected default is no longer available

If a default audio settings you had previously set is no longer available, a warning shows, prompting the user to click and set a new default.

Important

Please keep in mind that if you are using your computer settings, Spoke Phone will use the device selected in the computer settings. If you select a specific device, Spoke Phone will ignore your computer settings and continue to use the selected device (when plugged in). Please also note that your volume settings should be managed directly through your device settings in the sound preferences section as there are no volume adjustments within Spoke Phone.
