How to Setup The Yealink Wireless Phone & Base Station Setup (W59R or Higher)

Overview

This article will show you how to set up a Yealink (W59R or higher) wireless desk phone device including Base Station setup for use with Spoke Phone. It contains the following sections:

Requirements

Experience working with IP addresses and knowledge of general technical setup procedures is recommended when integrating desk phones with Spoke Phone. For this reason, we recommend getting your IT team or contractor to assist you with the setup.

Spoke Phone is unable to offer assistance or support (other than the 
information provided in help documents) in setting up and troubleshooting
desk phones.

Retrieve the SIP credentials for this device

Follow these instructions to add a new device to your Spoke Phone and retrieve the SIP authentication credentials you will need for the next steps. 

Reset the phone to factory default.

If you have a previously-used the phone, a factory reset is required. If your phone is brand new out-of-the-box, you can skip this step.

Option 1: Handset Hardware Reset (W59R Dect IP Phone)

Click the OK button, and select Settings in the menu. Scroll down and select Handset Reset and then the display will appear warning "Reset handset to default", press Yes to confirm the reset.

If this method does not work, use Option 2 below.

Option 2: Dect Base Station Hardware Reset (W70B)

Power off the unit by unplugging the power cord from the back (for PoE, disconnect the network cable) and wait for 15 seconds. With the unit unplugged, press and hold the connect button on the base station. While still holding the connect button, plug the power (or network cable if PoE) back into the unit. Wait until all three lights on the unit are showing as solid green, and release the connect button.

TIP: You can also reset the base from a connected handset within the phones Settings -> System Settings menu. The default pin is "0000".

How to setup a Yealink Cordless Phone

  1. Plug the base station into a power outlet and connect the network ethernet cable to your network router and wait until all three lights are solid green.
  2. Power on your wireless Handset and plug the handset into the charging cradle.

Handset Registration to the Base Station

  1. Long press the top connection button on the base station until the registration light starts flashing (the top light).
  2. On the handset while in the charging cradle, press the OK button, select Settings -> Registration and then select Register Handset. - The phone should say EASY PAIRING and complete. If you have more than one handset, simply follow the same process.
  3. It is important to get the Base Station IP Address now for SIP registration. On the Handset, press the OK button and the select the Information or Status option. Select the Base in the menu and note down the IPv4 address which should a normal IP address, example: 192.168.1.167

Log in to the Web Management Portal

  1. Open a web browser on a computer that's connected to the same network as the phone.

  2. Enter the IP address from the previous section, example https://192.168.1.167

  3. Log in to the web interface as an admin by providing the username & password.

Note: The default admin username and password is admin / admin. If you do not know your username or password, contact the vendor of the phone.

Set your default registration domain for the base station.

  1. Click on the Account tab and select the Register menu as shown below.
  2. Update the fields highlighted in the image. The SIP server address was retrieved in step 2 or follow  these instructions to add a new device

Enabling the SIP Registration

 

Enter account details and SIP credentials for each device.

  1. Click on the Status tab and select Handset & VoIP. The W70B supports up to 10 wireless handset devices that will show you the registered devices and provide you with an option to name your devices.

Enabling "Keep-alive"

  1. Click on the Account tab and select the Advanced menu as shown below.
  2. Set the settings to the values highlighted in the image.
  3. Scroll down, click Confirm to save.

Enter account details and SIP credentials for each device.

  1. Click on the Status tab and select Handset & VoIP. The W70B supports up to 10 wireless handset devices that will show you the registered devices and provide you with an option to name your devices.
