How to select the correct voice server region

Overview:

This article will show you how to select the closest voice server region for your location. This can help to reduce latency on calls and improve overall call quality.

It contains the following sections:

How to check your voice server region settings

  1. Open your Spoke Phone app.
  2. Tap on the user icon.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Navigate to My Call Quality.
  5. Scroll down to Select closest voice region.
  6. Tap on the arrow to select a new region from the list.

How to select the correct voice server region

By default, your Spoke app will be set to the region closest to the country your administrator selected when setting up your Spoke Phone account.

Unless you are currently travelling, or located in a different country from your organisation, you should not need to adjust or change these settings.
In general, you should select the voice server region that is geographically closest to your current location.
For example, we would advise a user in India to select Singapore as their voice region. Bear in mind that if a user is travelling they will need to remember to update their voice region as appropriate.

Alternatively, you can try selecting 'Global'. This will use some routing trickery to determine the closest region, however about 1-2% of the time this is not reliable.
