Push Notification Diagnostic Test Plan
Test 1: Basic Notification Check
- Lock your phone or iPad
- Have someone send you a message (or trigger a notification from the app)
- Expected result: Notification appears on lock screen
- If it works: Problem solved! If not, continue to Test 2.
Test 2: Check Phone-Level Do Not Disturb
- Go to your phone's main Settings
- Find "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus" mode (iPhone) / "Do Not Disturb" (Android)
- Check if it's enabled - if yes, turn it off temporarily
- Repeat Test 1
- If it works now: Configure DND to allow notifications from your app. If still not working, continue to Test 3.
Test 3: Check Phone-Level Notification Settings
- Go to Settings → Notifications (iPhone) or Settings → Apps & Notifications (Android)
- Find the Spoke app in the list
- Verify notifications are enabled
- Check that Lock Screen notifications are allowed
- Check notification style is not set to "None" or "Silent"
- Repeat Test 1
- If it works now: Problem solved! If not, continue to Test 4.
Test 4: Go Off Wifi and test on cell data
- Turn off WiFi
- Make sure you have good 4G or 5G data
- Repeat Test 1

Test 5: Reinstall Notification Permissions
- Uninstall the Spoke app completely
- Restart your phone / iPad
- Reinstall the app
- When prompted, allow notifications
- Repeat Test 1
- If it works now: Problem solved! If not, contact support with your test results.
Quick checklist to provide with results:
- Phone model and OS version
- Which tests passed/failed
- Whether notifications work from other apps
- Whether the app badge icon updates (if applicable)
